After 10 hours of competition, the Final Round of the global cyber security competition WhiteHat Grand Prix 06 officially closed at 12:30 (UTC+0) December 27.

12:30 Successfully submitting one more challenge of the Warm-up helped ACEBEAR (Vietnam) increase their position to No. 7 on the Scoreboard. ALLESCTF is the 4th team to successfully solve the Device challenge of the Finish with KingTigerPrawn, More Smoked Leet Chicken, and DiceGang.

12:20 Immediately after DiceGang, OpenToAll rose their rankings on the Scpreboard, KingTigerPrawn had an impressive "response". The Korean team quickly speeded up with the successful submission of 4 challenges of Jeopardy, increasing their total score to 4,178 and reaching Top 1. 4/5 challenges of the Warm-up were successfully solved.

09:00 In the IoT Jeopardy one of the challenges is to compromise the security system and disable the lighting control system. Completing this challenge, teams will be awarded 1,000 points.

The remaining two challenges are time-based, so teams must compete with time to complete the challenges as quickly as possible, thereby preserving the points given by the Organizer. The original score for each team in this part includes: 2,000 points for the camera challenge and 1,500 points for the sensor challenge. Teams must race against time. The longer the problem is solved, the more points are deducted. Points get deducted after certain time periods. điểm.

Successfully submitting all 3 challenges, teams will get the final flag and be awarded 500 points.

08:00 JustToPlay has just completed the second challenge. The team races to 6th place on the Scoreboard.

The For Challenge introduces teams to the Bluezone app, a "shield" to protect the community against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Make in Vietnam application installed on the smartphone helps to detect and alert when users have close contact with COVID-19 patients. The contact data from the application will help the authorities to respond quickly, accurately and promptly to the pandemic situation while the people feel secure with their normal daily life.

On the edge of the Final Round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 06, teams participated in the Whitehat Bug Bounty program to find vulnerabilities. This is a special Private Bug Bounty program for the teams, where they can show off their skills and qualifications. Preliminary summary on the morning of December 27, Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, Bkav Vice President of Cyber Security, Operator of Vietnam Cyber Security Community WhiteHat.vn, said that 23 vulnerabilities were detected.

Thus, in addition to the First Prize of 230 million in the Final, teams have a chance to receive bounties from discovered vulnerabilities.

Pwn Challenge: Vietnam is one of the four economies in the world with GDP per capita growth in the world in 2020, along with Taiwan, Egypt and China. In the Warm-up, the team's score is calculated as follows:

In addition, the team that successfully submits the first challenge will receive 50 bonus points (First Blood).

The mission of the teams includes attacking, exploiting others’ vulnerabilities to disable the system of security cameras, motion detectors, surveillance lights, etc. while keeping their own systems protected. To be successful, the teams need practical skills and deep understanding of infrastructure security, application security, encryption, web security, etc.

The Final Round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 06 includes 3 parts: Warm-up, Speed-up and Finish.

The contest will take place continuously for 8 hours: from 02:30 to 10:30 (UTC+0) December 27, 2020.

The final score of each team will be the total score of 3 parts: Warm-up, Speed-up and Finish. After being released, the challenges will remain open until the end of the competition.

After the Opening Ceremony, the Final Round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 06 will start at 09:30. This is an 8-hour competition between 10 excellent teams, of which 2 teams are from the host country Vietnam, 3 from the US, 2 from Korea and 3 others from Russia, India and Germany.

The software and systems involving the WhiteHat Bug Bounty include the system providing fundamental services, monitoring the quality of the Internet of Vietnam; software used popularly in Vietnam, including software for Internet connection as well as public key infrastructure software that helps ensure transactions on the Internet and so on.

The prizes of WhiteHat Grand Prix 06 include: The First Prize worth VND 230 million (approximately USD 10,000), the Second and Third prizes worth VND 45 million (approximately USD 2,000) and VND 23 million (approximately USD 1,000) respectively. In addition, teams also have the opportunity to get additional bounties per bug they find.
