41 teams sign up to attend WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016 for the first week of registration

After one week of official publication, WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016 has registration to attend of 41 teams from 14 countries worldwide.

With 25 teams, Vietnam has the most registering teams, followed by the United States and India. Compared to last year, the number of Vietnamese registering teams has increased significantly. The number of international teams is 16. dcua, Top 1 team on CTFTime has also signed up to participate.

Mr. Ngo Tuan Anh, Bkav’s Vice President of Cyber ​​Security, said: "Basing on CTF competitions’s signature, the number of registrations will increase dramatically in the last days. The time for registration is still long. The number of signing-up teams, especially Vietnamese, showes the interest of the domestic and worldwide cybersecurity community to our contest, which contributes to affirm Vietnam's prestige in the field of cybersecurity".

In 2015, WhiteHat Grand Prix with the theme "Hello, Vietnam!" attracted the participation of nearly 500 teams from 67 countries, of which 6 teams were in the Top 10 of the world according to CTFTime (ranking of global network security competitions).

Through WhiteHat Grand Prix 2015’s challenges, the international teams visited many beautiful landscapes of Vietnam. They will have a chance to explore Vietnam through foods in the WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016.

WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016 is organized with the theme of Discovering Vietnam.

WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016 has an organizing cooperation between Bkav and 5 Vietnamese universities in giving challenges, including Danang University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Information Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Duy Tan University and People's Security Academy.

WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016 takes place continuously for 24 hours, from December 17 to December 18, with the number of challenges increases by a half compared to last year. The teams will compete in the form of Jeopardy online with challenges covering Web Exploit, Reverse, Pwnable, Forensics and Crypto. The teams can register to participate online from October 15th at: GrandPrix.WhiteHatVN.com.

WhiteHat Grand Prix 2016 prizes includes: the First Prize worth 225 million VND (equivalent to 10,000 USD), the Second and Third Prizes worth 45 million VND (approximately 2,000 USD) and 25 million dong (approximately 1,000 USD).
