After 25 hours of competition, the qualifier of WhiteHat Grand Prix - Grand Prize 2014 officially ended at 11:00 am, September 20, selecting 10 teams to the final round held on October 25.
The qualification round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 2014 had 66 teams that were eligible to participate, of which 42 teams registered their names in the scoreboard of the South and the North. In the North, babyrobots seemed to be dominant when constantly sending accurate answers, occupying the No. 1 position most of the time. Unexpectedly, when the qualifier was just over 1 hour left, PhD.team successfully solved the 300-point Exploit challenge, creating a spectacular swap to replace the first position of babyrobots. Following closely behind, R3d5ky, Avengers and b33p were also fiercely competing for positions in the Top 5 of the North scoreboard.
At the end of the qualifier, 5 teams reached the final round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 2014 in the North are as follows:
In the South, the atmosphere of the competition was equally fierce as the ranking order of teams constantly changed. Right from the start of the qualification round, Felix was seemingly "dominant" when being the first team to score points and maintain the leading position in the South until mid-afternoon on 19 September. Felix was only forced to spare the number 1 position to _BAMBOO_ after this team scored 400 points on the WebVuln challenge. It was thought that _BAMBOO_ would be determined to maintain the first position, but after a night of "planning", REBD defeated both Felix and _BAMBOO_ to reach the top of the scoreboard at 6:26 am on September 20. The top 5 of the South then almost remained unchanged with REBD, _BAMBOO_, Felix, botbie and bkitsec. However, the surprise came in the last 20 minutes, when the 1-26AM team pushed bkitsec out of the 5th place, officially registering their name to the final round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 2014.
As a result, the 5 teams leading the qualification round of WhiteHat Grand Prix 2014 in the South are as follows:
